I was born and raised in a small town in North Carolina. I never really liked art until I got into upper years of high school. As a freshman, I took art 1 where I met the worst person imaginable... my art teacher. She said it's not considered art if it's not done by her rules. If it looks like crap, it's not art. If you can't eventually sell it, it's not art. I hated art because what I did "was not art". I finally realized I wasn't the traditional artist. I could create anything out of anything given to me. I was make weird dolls from broken shards of glass and metal hangers. I would make new types of insects from shoelaces and bottle caps. I was never good at drawing or painting, but sculpting was what I could do.
Apart from art, I was a straight A student whose dream was to attend an ivey league college. Realizing the cost, that dream was shattered. For a while after graduating, I went on a rebelious streak, like most people do. Then and there, I was inspired to live life in moderation while still holding the bars. I am now studying to become a marine biologist, seeing as to my strong suit was always science and I loved the ocean. This is a perfect combonation.
